Pope Warns AI Could Fuel Misinformation and Increase Risk of Global Conflict

Pope Leo XIV urged world leaders to slow down the advancement of artificial intelligence technology because it can spread misinformation as well as trigger permanent warfare among countries across the globe. By comparing this technological race to the Biblical tale of the tower of Babel, Pope Leo XIV pointed out that technology must not remain in the hands of private firms and emphasized the need for stringent laws to protect employees and minors. Furthermore, Pope Leo XIV denounced the use of technology in making lethal decisions regarding warfare. Moreover, Pope Leo XIV addressed the issue of "new forms of slavery" where minors had to mine rare elements used in manufacturing tech products. It should be noted that Pope Leo XIV made two unprecedented actions during his visit to Canada.
